Why you should READ Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and NOT depend on movie…
MORE VOLDEMORT… or Tom Riddle, whatever you call him. 1/2 this book was how Voldi got to be who he is today… ALL cut out of movie… his sick grandfather, uncle, mother… stuck up father…
MORE NEVILLE LONGBOTTOM enough said…
Percey, Charlie, Bill, and Fleur… the way it looks now, I’m guessing they’re going to skip the wedding in 7… shame!
House elves, ghost, talking portraits, Trelawny.
The battle at the end… so i’m guess your wondering why the deatheaters had to get into Hogwarts anyway? Just to ruin the furniture? Nope… read the book and find out!
The book actually explains who the half blood prince is and how he got that name.
Now I suppose most of these don’t even bother you cause you have read none of the books, so you don’t even really know who Charlie and Bill are but that’s just it… there is so much more to this story… if you like the movies ya’ll get so much more fun from the books!
Audio books ok by me too

I totally forgot about the whole Voldemort backstory. I think we saw Bill for a second in the movie and a thought flashed in my head about him and Fleur… but then it was gone.
There was just waaay too much in the book (in all of the books) for a single movie. But the kid who plays Harry Potter really nails the character for me, so I think that’s why I enjoy the movie series so much. In fact, all the characters are played just as I imagined them in the books (Helena Bonham Carter especially – I swear I pictured her as Bellatrix when I read the books).
But, really. There’s no good excuse for not reading Harry Potter. If you’re older than 8, it’s mandatory!

I didn’t even bother with the movie this time after the massacre of the last book. I have been a die hard Pott-head from the word go, but the movies, for me, are just too much of a stretch in all the wrong places. I am a self proclaimed book sniffing weirdo though – give me a book any day.
